Hey Backers, As shipping rolls out (still waiting for confirmation), we have officially formed the Baby Bestiary Company (as operating on KS here) and we have officially launched our 2017 Baby Bestiary Calendar Kickstarter, From here on out the Baby Bestiary Company (BBC) will be responsible for producing and managing all Baby Bestiary products from here on out, and Andreas Walters of Metal Weave Games will continue his unique systemless productions.
Huzzah for the cute!!
Final note: I took a review of the shipping document and we have some addresses missing, so I'll be hunting for you guys via email, because i want you to get the books you paid for (and reduces hassle to get you a slipcase 5 months later)

First Baby Bestiary news,
Shipping will officially commence this Wednesday, there was a slight delay for me to get the addresses updated (thank you everyone who reached out). Also the warehouse needed to get shipping materials to start doing labels and packaging.
Other news
Embers of the Forgotten Kingdom, our Dark Souls inspired art and lore book has officially launched.
We have an ambitious goal and in addition to the book, we're offering adventures for D&D 5e, Pathfinder (written by Ben McFarland) and Shadow of the Demon Lord (written by Robert Schwalb).
We also have a stretch goal for a Baby Bestiary children's book crossover..just too cute!!

Post GenCon + Shipping Update

Hey Guys, I apologize for the longer delay between GenCon and a post report. But all in all things went very well, albeit scary for a few moments.
GenCon Craziness
Books were airshipped and were slated to arrive wednesday (day before convention), however DHL was being dumb and had delays pushing out to delivery to Friday or so. Fortunately Kraken Print was on top of them (since they handled the shipping of this piece) and was on them constantly. They were able to pick up a number of boxes before they even sorted them on Thursday morning (since they were soo late) and they arrived with a few boxes on Thursday at 9 (right when the VIP hour began), so i was running though crowds with a dolly of books just to get product on the shelves. A litle bit of chaos to start the gen con madness (and the big fear that i wasnt going to have books for gencon)
In the end the product was there and despite the struggle it was worth it.
ENnie Awards
On Friday was the ENnies, although we were nominated for three categories Non-Player Cards- Best RPG Aid/Accessory Baby Bestiary vol1 - Best Interior Art Baby Bestiary vol1 - Best Monster/Adversary I was skeptical we would win anything since we were upn against such big products and companies, but to my suprise, we won not only one, but TWO silver awards for the Baby Bestiary!! And as I had mentioned in my "speech' I can't thank you, the backers enough who joined me to make this project possible. Thank you everyone for voting and helping make this project as beautiful and awesome as it is.
Shipping
The shipment I had sent to gencon is far too small for fufillment, but the main shipment should be arriving in the USA tomorrow. Allow about two weeks of processing and orders should start shipping out. Due to the quantity we were able to order, I had diverted a portion of the books to the Kraken EU warehouse, this should speed up shipping to those in or near the EU (sorry australia, you guys are still complicated) I will post more information about it when i recieve it.
Baby Bestiary Game (app)
At GenCon I had the blessing of meeting a few game developers who are keenly interested in the Baby Bestiary Brand and were wondering if we were intersted in gameifying it onto mobile devices. Off the bat I am interested, but I am hesitant because I don't want the focus to be a pokemon styled game where the only reason you rear beasts is for a fight to the death between beasts. Somehting aking to chao garden (in sonic adventure 2), something like Neko Atsune, or even something like fallout shelter (but managing beasties instead of people) The app guys proposed some sort of CCG,but im having difficulty staying away from the combat driven aspects
Anyways, i am eager to hear your thoughts and ideas on the matter

I am working on the Baby Bestiary 2017 Calendar, illustrated this year by Afda Trihatma. We will be kickstarting this soon (for preorders) as I want fufillment to go smoothly this year.

Future Baby Bestiary Kickstarters
We have a childrens book and an ABC book in the works, What I would really like to do is a mechandise kickstarter which would include shirts, minis and plushes (and i would really love to just have a baby bestiary styled box of gear that would hold everything together) but im still in the concepting phase and finding good manufacturers of shirts and plushes.
But i would also like to know what kind of merhcandise you guys would be interested in.
Also, we are looking at doing Baby Bestiary themed adventures (I can't announce anything now but there are things in the works)

Hey Backers! I know it's been awhile since I have posted an update but I hope you guys have been enjoying the PDF of both Baby Bestiary volume 1 and Volume 2. Just a few things to let you guys know about
Award Nominations
The Baby Bestiary Volume 1 has been nominated for not one, but TWO Ennie awards, for the categories, Best interior art, and Best Monster/Adversary
We don't know if we win the award until the Gen Con Ceremony, I for sure will be there on August 5th at 8:00 PM EDT and would be happy to invite you all there to attend
Shipping
As you know, we delayed the delivery of the PDF to ensure that it was to get the last revisions and edits into the book, ensuring it was the best we could make it. This week I had just found out that this delay, had also pushed out our print delivery to Mid August, to which was unexpected for me as I thought I had properly calculated the production and shipping period landing me two weeks before Gen Con. Needless to say this puts me in a situation that I would have preferred to avoid,. But to be honest this is my plan of attack. 1) I am expediting 100 copies of both volume 1 and 2 to be sold at Gen Con and for those backers who elected to pick up their rewards at the convention (if you wanted to change your answer please message me). This isn't cheap, as I am earning only half the potential earnings per product due to the high shipping cost of the quick, overseas delivery. 2) At Gen Con the PDF of the Baby Bestiary Volume 2 will go for sale to the public. 3) No books will be sold to the public (outside of Gen Con) until two weeks after I put in the Baker Fulfillment order, to which I estimate going public in September 2nd.
Backerkit Add-ons
I have sent out the the PDFs and Prints to Scavengers, for those who have not received them yet let me know (international backers may have a delay due to shipping times). For the NPC decks they are being shipped from Amazon to a warehouse so they can be shipped internationally (because amazon wont non-media mail internationally)
Wallpapers
I requested to the artists to extend a number of the images so that they can be better formatted to Wallpaper backgrounds and I have those files now!!! I will be sending these out in various resolutions in the the next two weeks (but probably sooner).
Coloring Book
Thanks to the help of Bobby Frye who did a ton of work turning the sketches of Volume 1 into the coloring book, we are almost done with Volume 2!!
Miniatures
I am still working on getting cheaper versions of these done, I had an issue with some inverted negative lines, a high poloygon count and high file size (which is good, because the model will scale well in size). But its given me trouble with services such as Shapeways.
Future Projects - Baby Bestiary
There are two childrens books in the books in the works, one a quick short story, and another being an Baby Bestiary ABCs styled book
Future Projects - Embers of the Forgotten Kingdom Kickstarts in September
If you like Dark Souls (a slight departure from the Baby Bestiary), you'll love this project! Using the same formula as the Baby Bestiary; an awesome image, accompanied with awesome systemless lore and hooks. We aim to create, what is essentially, a book of book of powerful characters and creatures, who are all bound together in collapsing civilization, overrun by an unexplainable curse.
We're going to start with just characters, and once we expand it to a sizable number, we will then focus on making the book a systemless module, bringing in unique locations (and more awesome art) to inspire your game to take a dark turn (or to travel to a failing land)
